I suppose I should correct that title... I do not love laundry... but I do love my laundry room! I've been in my house for 11 years and the laundry room is the one room that's never had anything done to it. I suppose it's because it's upstairs. No one ever sees it but me. It's just a utilitarian room used for something I actually don't even like. But there comes a time in every house where you can no longer have 90's light oak cabinetry in any room! That was the one room left and I guess I decided if I have to do laundry, I might as well have something pretty to look at while I'm in there! So I went bright and bold with my cabinets and I LOVE them!
I made a valance (my version of a faux roman shade), painted the walls an antique white so the contrast with the cabinets wasn't so harsh, searched high and low for the perfect laundry basket, and put some fun things on the walls.
My favorite addition may be the built in ironing board.
A little bit of a splurge, but it is the greatest thing...maybe ever! I actually iron now! :)
I added a fun rug for a splash of color on the floor. And there you have it!
Someday, I'd like to put a counter in over my washer and dryer. When we find a free weekend this summer that might get done, but even without that, I'm totally happy with the room. I actually smile when I see it (despite the pile of clothes that always needs attention!)
