Crazy how fast kids grow up. Mine are only 7, 5 & 2 but I can already project into the future and anticipate how surreal it will be when they are getting ready to go to college and I am looking back at these photos with a sense of nostalgia and a tiny little ache in my heart! I guess the only thing I can do is to enjoy them as much as possible now and not take one minute for granted!
My sister sent me a card for my birthday that sums up how we were raised and how I want my kids to be raised. It simply said, "It's my birthday, so I can if I want to!" Brilliant!
Well this year Avery wanted to have her 5th birthday at Partipalooza! It's a big bounce house party place in Livermore. Which turns out was awesome for me because all I had to do was make cupcakes and show up! Everything else was taken care of and the kids had so much fun.
Her actual birthday was on a Sunday, so we got up early and she opened presents and Lance made her crepes with strawberries (her request).
After church we had dinner. She wanted smoked ribs, watermelon, strawberries and rolls, followed by ice cream sundaes for dessert.
The following day we had the friends party. She had fun in the karaoke room but...
did not like the rock climbing wall!
The bouncy houses, slides, and the bowling alley were big hits!
After playtime was pizza and cupcakes.
Riley demonstrated the right way to eat a cupcake! No utensils needed, but napkins are pretty essential to this method!
Lastly, Avery opened all the great gifts from her friends and then it was time to go home!
Avery is the sweetest girl and was blessed with her dad's quality of loving to please people. She loves to make everyone happy. She is a GREAT sister and adds so much fun to our family. She loves to laugh and be silly. We are so blessed to have her!
