My Birthday Isn't Quite Over!

Just when I thought my week and a half long celebration of my birthday was over... my good friend Jen invited me to San Francisco to hit some shops and take me to lunch!  It was a really fun day (with one exception) and San Francisco weather doesn't get any better!

We drove in and went to lunch at Nopalita, an organic Mexican restaurant.  Mexican seems to be the only thing I ever crave when I'm pregnant. It was really good food.

Then the one exception happened...on our way to our first shop I rear-ended a car turning left in front of me!  AAHHHH!  There's enough damage to my car that I need to take it to the body shop to get it fixed!  Luckily there was no damage to the other car and no one was hurt!

Also luckily, the car still runs fine so we were able to continue our day! :)

The first store we hit was a really neat place called The Ribbonerie!  Wall to wall spools of ribbon! I bought a few yards for my new nursery.

Then we went to a store called Leftovers.  I had driven by at night a while back and it looked really neat.  I have to say, it wasn't as great in the daylight.  It is a consignment shop and maybe if I'd been looking for a cool vintage piece of furniture it would have been better.  But at least I can check it off my list!

Then we went to Ghirardelli Square to check out a very cute store called Crown and Crumpet and of course get a cupcake at Kara's.

Next was stop was the Ferry Building.  I bought myself a little treat from Recchiutti and some serving utensils from Sur La Table.

We then went to a cute french shop called Ma Maison.  Very cute place.

And lastly, but certainly not least, we hit my favorite bakery Tartine!  I discovered it a few years ago and have become a regular customer.  This place is an absolute San Francisco treat!

With a quick little stop at Stoneridge mall on the way home, our day was over.  It was a great little outing and I really enjoyed spending the day with my sweet friend.  For more pictures about our day out go here!

I guess my birthday is really officially over now, but hey next Sunday is Mother's day so the pampering will continue!

Happy Birthday to Me!

For my birthday this year, I wanted to go to Disneyland!  It sounds crazy, because I was 6 months pregnant on my birthday, but I love seeing my girls have so much fun! We were in Anaheim Monday, Tuesday and half a day on Wednesday (actually the week before my birthday!)We had such a fun time.  We spent all day Monday at California adventure. Sophie was a little daredevil.  She wanted to do everything, she had no fear, well except for the Bug's Life 3D movie.  She didn't like that at all!

Avery was scared at the Bug's Life 3D movie too, but she did like the glasses she got to wear.  I thought the movie was really cool!  I'd never seen it before.

Avery was too small to ride some of the rides, but I got her a frozen strawberry lemonade cup and she was very content!

Tuesday we spent at Disneyland.  We started in Fantasyland and made our way around the park.  I think Small World was the favorite ride, since it's the only one the girls wanted to go on twice.

The girl's got to get their faces painted at the Disney Fantasy Faire!  They loved that!

On Wednesday, we went to Disneyland again and rode a few more rides before we headed over to California Adventure to eat lunch at Ariel's Grotto.  That was a very special experience.  As soon as you go downstairs to the restaurant, you get your picture taken with Ariel.

Then you are seated at your table and brought some pretty yummy food and the princesses come around to your table and talk to you and take pictures with you.  The girl's thought it was amazing!

We had a such a fun time! I was exhausted from walking around for 3 days straight, and it took me a full day at home to recover, but it was so worth it!

The following week was my actual birthday and so the celebration continued!  I woke up Sunday morning and Lance and the girls made me chocolate waffles for breakfast.  Then we we got home from church, Lance made me dinner and chocolate cake for dessert.

Monday was my actual birthday and Lance ended up having to go into work. He had to catch up from missing work for the Disneyland trip, but we met him at Simply Fondue that night for dinner.  Sophie and Avery thought cooking your own food at the table was so cool! I thought dipping fruit in melted dark chocolate was heavenly!

Along with the Disneyland trip, I got two t-shirts and a new purse.  I had such a great birthday.  Besides everything my husband and daughters did, I got presents from my parents and brothers and sisters.  I got great gifts from my friends, who also celebrated by meeting for a girl's night out at Yogofina.  Even though having another birthday means I am now 38 (aaaahhhh!), it was such a great one this year!

St. Patrick's Day Fun

This year, my girls were fascinated with St. Patrick's Day and what it is all about so we decided to have some fun.  We started the day by making sure we had our green on of course and then ate Lucky Charms for breakfast!  After that we searched for the golden candy the little leprechaun had hidden around the house when he ran through last night (you didn't know leprechauns do that?).

Sophie and Avery painted little buckets to put their candy in, complete with rainbow handles and Avery painted a picture of a leprechaun (if you look closely you can see her handprint is the leprehaun's beard).

Sophie really wanted to try and find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, but since we didn't see any rainbows today we settled for drinking mint shakes and eating green jello!
