This year, my girls were fascinated with St. Patrick's Day and what it is all about so we decided to have some fun. We started the day by making sure we had our green on of course and then ate Lucky Charms for breakfast! After that we searched for the golden candy the little leprechaun had hidden around the house when he ran through last night (you didn't know leprechauns do that?).
Sophie and Avery painted little buckets to put their candy in, complete with rainbow handles and Avery painted a picture of a leprechaun (if you look closely you can see her handprint is the leprehaun's beard).
Sophie really wanted to try and find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, but since we didn't see any rainbows today we settled for drinking mint shakes and eating green jello!

Our Little Artiste!
At the beginning of February I was desperately craving some good BBQ! In Tracy, the best place I know is Famous Dave's. Since it was almost Valentine's day and the restaurant was having a children's coloring contest. Sophie and Avery got their pictures and in between bites starting coloring! Avery being 2, wasn't taking it very seriously, but since Sophie was doing it she wanted to do it. At the end of the meal, we went to turn in Sophie's entry, trying to get away with not turning in Avery's since she had gotten BBQ sauce on it, but she wanted it turned in so we did!
About a month later, I got a phone call from Famous Dave's saying we had a winner! AVERY!!! She won in the 2 year old category! (I think she might have been the only 2 year old who entered, but hey...a winner's a winner!). We got to go have dinner with Wilbur the Famous Dave's mascot and Avery got her dinner free! It was a lot of fun and Avery was so proud (and to her credit, Sophie was very happy for her sister!).
Here is her winning entry:
And this is her and her Dad with Wilbur!
By the way, Wilbur's cousins tasted really good that night! :)

It's A...
GIRL!!!! Yes, our third, sweet little girl! I am very excited to welcome Riley Elizabeth into our little family!
I love my girls more than I could explain. They are my little miracles and every day I feel so blessed to be their mom. The thought of another little one to love makes my heart go pitter-patter!
